— WHEAT FOR FOWLS. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESB ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH; Nov. 26. At a, meeting of the North Canterbury executive of the Farmers’ Union to-day it was agreed that notice be given to the Dominion executive to rescind a resolution supporting the poultry-keepers’ request that a million bushels' of fowl wheat be allowed to be imported duty free. COMMITS SUICIDE. AUCKLAND, Nov. 27. Arthuir Burford, retired butcher, aged 74, died in hospital from a wound inflicted to his throat on Panmure Rond on Sunday. At the inquest a verdict of suicide was returned.
