' A phenomenal siiccess is reported by amateurs, following the broadcasting of a foreign programme to-night by magazine radio broadcasting. Owing to an outcry as to the probable reaction of the convitlon oh AngloGerman rellatioiiuS, the Government has pardoned General Nathusius, the Ger- ' man war criminal, who was last week sentened to a week’s imprisonment for . the theft of furniture and articles-. of personal attire during the period of the German occupation of France. TO RECAPTURE MECCA. LONDON, Nov. 26. British airmen and aeroplanes are , going to assist King Ali to recapture Mecca, and three De Hjaviland aeroplanes have been sent to Arabia. The aviators Macintosh and Wriggle sworth have gone to Jeddah. Apparently there ,is : no rule to prevent British aviators taking service with a foreign Power unless- they :are in the British Air Force. DOCTOR. EXONERATED, ■- MELBOURNE, Nov. 26. The report of the Royal Commission inquiring into the conditions a-t Kew Asylum states generally that Dr. Ellery was .not guilty of cruelty nor maladministration. but -that certain; attendants gave wilfullv false evidence in an effort to injure him. After exonerating Dr. Ellery the report concludes that the primary cause of all the difficulty was overcrowding.
