I SCHOOL COMMITTEE. A meeting of the committee was held on Monday last, when there were present: Mr. Middleton (chairman), Mesdames Mashers and Adlam, Messrs Currie (hon. secretary), T. H. Wall, O, Christensen, W. Wicks, and C. Browning (headmaster) 1 The headmaster reported, inter alia, that the school entered in competitions with the best schools in the AVanganui Board’s district at the recent AVanganui A. and P. Show, and secured 32 prizes. Re school prizes, he suggested that every infant receive a prize of an average value of Is each, in addition to other prizes, and that the Town Hall be booked for December 17 for the purpose of presenting the school prizes, and that a collection be taken at the door to defray the cost of hiring the hall. Arrangements had been made to hold the school sports on the Recreation Ground on December 10. It was resolved that the headmaster’s report be received and approved; that the committee secure the Town Hall for presenting the prizes on. December 17, and that a. few musical items be arranged for that evening, and that the supper arrangements be left in the hands of the lady members.
