SETTLER'S SUICIDE.
MENTAL DEPRESSION. (BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.} WHAN GAR El, Nov. 26. An inquest was held yesterday at Towai concerning the death of -Samuel Mason, a settler, of Maromaku, who was found hanging froni the limb of a tree about two miles away from his home. _ Norman Mason, a eon, testified that he visited his father’s property on. Sunday morning, and found the "house burned down. ihe Kawakawa- constable was notified, arid found a number of bones, in the debris, but these were subsequently pronounced not to be human bones. A wider search revealed the deceased’s tragic end. A verdict was returned that death was due to hanging, self-inflicted, while deceased was suffering,fi-orn deep mental depression.
