NAVAL UNIT. (by telegraph —press association. AUCKLAND, Nov. 25. Pre palliations for the establishment of the first unit of the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve ('New Zealand division) are proceeding. It will be enrolled in Auckland and comprise 120 men. It is understopd the officer in command will be Commander J. R. Middleton, D. 5.0., R.N., of Auckland. A sufficient number of R.N.V.R. officers, who served in the navy during the war, is available for the division. OFFENCE BY SCHOOLMASTER. REMANDED FOR SENTENCE. NAPIER, 1 Nov. 26. David Cowan, aged 42, a schoolr master, was found guilty at the Supreme Court of indecent assault and was remanded for sentence.
