CROWN LANDS.

ENQUIRY BEING HELD. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. TAUMARUNUI, Nov. 25. A sitting of the Land Deterioration Commission is being held here to-day. It is being presided over by Mr G. H. Bullard, Commissioner of Crown Lands. The commission is holding an enquiry regarding the * lands situated between Wanganui and Kawhia to the Main Trunk, covering a very large area. The commission has a wide order of reference, which embraces the causes of deterioration, the size of holdings, the means of restoring in'od activity and the measure of help needed from the State to settlers. Evidence is now being heard.
