$ FURTHER. EVIDECE TAKEN. BY CABLE-PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received Nov. 25, 1.35 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 24. When the hearing of the bank case resumed Hobbs was called. He said that he had not the cheques which he had been asked to produce, and the documents for which Mr. Simon had asked had been stolen from his box. He asserted that the man was in court (Captain Moss), and alleged that he had paid £2O for them. The Judge ordered Moss to be kept in court. ' Counsel stated that he did not wish to call Moss. ' Mr. Ilalsbury said that he would accept copies of the letters and other documents possessed by the defence as originals. Mr. Hyam Davis, plaintiff’s solicitor, gave evidence in regard to an interview he and Robinson hgd with the manager of the Midland Bank. He said that Robinson told the manager lie was not aware of the existence of an account for £150,000 in. his name, and the signature attached to the letter opening the account was a forgery. He ■stated that Hobbs offered £25,000 to settle the matter, but this was refused. —Router.
