WELLINGTON Nov. 25. there are indications that Wellingtol display an unusual amount of public enthusiasm as an indication of the popularity of the Governor-General ?. n m e .occasion of his departure bv the iahiti on Wednesday. It is inteiuled to give a. citizens’ farewell in the lowii Hall on Tuesday nighty and, if the weather is favourable, to place ciowds of school children on prominent poants of the harbour front as the steamer passes. A very appropriate farewell will be given by the vessels of tne Navy now in port. H.M.S. Dunedin and \ eroniea will precede the mail steamer down the harbour, and when Cook Strait is reached the Dunedin will fire the Governor-General’s salute of 19 i^i ie wars hips "ill turn to pass the Tahiti when the- ships will be diessed, iind all hands give tliree rousmg cheers for the departing admiral. , T .
