DROWNING FATALITIES.
CORONIAL ENQUIRY. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, Nov. 24. At the inquest held to-day concerning the death of Charles Eklund, a hulk-keeper, who was drowned in the harbour on Friday, the coroner returned a verdict of “accidental death by drowning.”
AUCKLAND, Nov. 24. Redfern, whp wa s drowned from the Arahura, was being brought from Gisborne to the Auckland mental hospital. A constable allowed him on the deck for fresh air, the constable boding the patient bv the coat. Redfern made a sudden dash, dragging the constable with him, th© constable still clinging to his coat.
