ASSOCIATION FOOTBABLL.
HAWERA CLUB. FAREWELL TO MR, POOCH. A large gathering assembled at the reeidnce of Mr. Peters on Monday evening to bid farewell to W. Pooch late secretary to the Hawera Association .Football Club, who left Hawera ror Auckland on Tuesday. , Amongst those present were Mr. Adams and Mr. Cummings (president and secretary of the Taranaki Football Association respectively), and Mr. Sagar (president of the local club). _ behalf of the Hawera, Club Mr. S’agar made presentations to Mr. and Mrs. Pooch. Replying to the addresses of Messrs. Adams., Sagar, Cummings and Morgan, Mr. Pooch said th'at it had been a great pleasure to he associated with sport in Taranaki. The remarkable progress of the lodal club was not due to himself, as some of the previous speakers seemed to imply, but .to the complete understanding and eo-opera-tion of the committee, who had work-, ed eo well together during the past season.
The evening concluded with musical honours to Mr. and Mrs. Mr. J. Renwiok officiated at the piano.
