ELECTRIC LIGHT CARNIVAL.
TO-NIGHT’S GATHERING. The carnival, which had to be post: poned last night owing to unfavourable weather conditions, will take place on the showgrounds to-night, and the full programme already advertised will be presented. Mr. E. V. Dunbar, England’s Olympic representative, has been in Hawera for a few days, and during training here has put up some good results. His style of hurdling is perfect, and the speed and accuracy of his jumping will appeal to all. Morris, the Wellington cyclist, is on the scratch mark for both cycle events, but should give a good account of himself, as his Wellington performances mark him one of the best of that city. His strongest opposition will come from.the local competitors, Lay, Tippets, and Loretz, although some of the limit men are likely to be winners.
