HAWERA CLUB’S EFFORT

DESERVING OF ASSISTANCE. %■ Sporting bodies generally are deserving of every assistance, and those who contribute to the various prizes are to be congratulated for ' their public spiritedriess and generosity. It is with pleasure, therefore, that we publish the following list of persons who donated trophies for the Hawera Athletic Club’s Sports in conjunction with the Egmont A. and P. HANDICAPS FOR TO-MORROW

The athletic events on to-morrow night’s programme have filled exceptionally well, and included in the entries are Dunbar and Morris (Wellington), Gardiner, Brood, Darby, Telfer and Bromley (Wanganui), and Willis. Cribb, Hunter and Smith (New Plymouth. There will he three heats in the, 100 yards, two heats in the 220 yards secondary schools, and possibly two heats in the hurdles. These event's, together with, the horse jumping contest, will niake up a. verv attractive programme. The handicaps are as follow :
