MOCK NAVAL BATTLE.

U.S. FLEET MANOEUVRE. SAN PEDRO ("California), Oct. 23. Before the United, States Fleet departs on its 20,000-mile cruise, the scouting and battle fleets will fight for the theoretical control of the Californian coast Admiral Coontz. Commander-in-Chief, has announced that the scouting fleet will be commanded by Vice-Admiral McCully, and the battle fleet by RearAdmiral Robinson.

After this great manoeuvre the fleets will come to San Pedro for machinery overhaul They will leave on April 3 for Australia, New Zealand and Samoa.
