USE OF INSULIN.
A HELP TO* SURGERY. NEW YORK, Oct. 26Before the Medical Convention, Dr. Denham declared that insulin will soon be of greater value in surgery than in the treatment of diabetes. “Insulin and sugar can be given to a patient who is moribund from blood-poison of any kind, and in 36 hours the patient will be in a condition to withstand an operation, with a good .chance of recovery,” he said. He added that insulin and sugar would control and reverse the presence of bacteria and toxins in the blood.
