PARK clot: The first buttons match of the season tv as played on Saturday afternoon, the holders (Rodger, Osborne, Crutch, and Quayle) losing *to Henderson, St. v George, W. Grant, and • McGregor by 20 to 16 points. On Wednesday Hawera Aj will meet Park (at Park) in a banner match. A meeting of ladies will be held . at 3 o’clock the same afternoon to ; diiscuss matters of interest to the club. On Saturday Park will meet Hawera B on the latter’s green. HAWERA B TEAM v. PATEA. On Saturday afternoon last the Hawera B team (Saturday players) journeyed to Rate a and played ..the banner fixture set down for that date. The visitors were heartily welcomed by Mr. Adolf Christensen, who expressed the pleasure it gave in having a visit from the Hawera Club, and, as the day was ideal for bowlers, he was sure they' would have an enjoyable game. At the conclusion of the game Mr. -g. Adamson, on behalf of tKe Hawera Club, thanked the members of the Patea Club for the afternoon’s enjoyment they had been given. They had had a really splendid game, and he wished to compliment the Patea Club on the excellent state of their green; it was really beautiful to play on, and dkl credit to those in charge. He would also like to thank the ladies for the nice afternoon refreshments they had so kindly provided for them.
