PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

JUBILEE SERVICES. The jubilee services ivere conducted yesterday by the Rev, Ivo E. Bertram, minister. of this church during 19011904. The congregations were . very large at all three diets of worship. In the morning Communion was dispensed, and in his address just previous to the Sacrament Mr Bertram spoke very helpful words to the people. In the afternoon the church was full, the first address being specially for the young children of the Sunday School, Mr Bertram speaking to them on the necessity of being a sun shining forth light and heat, his address being marked , by many interesting stories. His second address was more for the Bible Class members and senior scholars of the Sunday School, his theme being “Growth!” The speaker held the attention of all wonderfully, every one present being able to take much of the address unto himself. In the evening the. minister delivered a most able and thoughtful address on “Faith,” appealing to his hearers to build their lives on faith in God. During the evening Mr Rowe, organist, played the - “Hallelujah Chorus,” and the choir sang the anthem “The Lord is My Shepherd.’’ In the morning and afternoon the junior choir sang special hymns in a very hearty and spirited, manner. During the evening the minister, Rev. R. E. Evans, was presented with a beautiful silk pulpit gown. The presentation was made in the orthodox manner by two of the oldest lady members of the congregation, Mesdames Moore Hunter and M. J. Campbell, robing the recipient. The gown was the gift of the congregation, and, having been oversubscribed, the chairman also handed Mr Evans a wellfilled envelope. In our report on Saturday ,one or two errors inadvertently crept in: The pulpit Bible and hymn hook were preby Mr and Mrs John Hicks. The hymn hook for the use of the organist was presented by Miss Buchanan.
