/ FOUND DROWNED. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, Nov. 9. . A mail’s body has been found floating in the harbour- off Devon port. From the description of the body and the papers found probably the deceased is David Duncan, of Hamilton, who lias been missing since November 1. On November 2 cries of distress were heard at Deponport at 2.30 a.m., at which hour, the, watch on the body had stopped. A BABY’S DEATH. . DUNEDIN, Nov. 9. The infant daughter of Robert Duncan Emmerson died in its mother’s arms while in a tram en route from Caver sham ■to St: Clair this afternoon Ihe child, which was two and a half weeks old, had been suffering from whooping cough for several days. HUSBAND SENT TO' GAOL. AUCKLAND, Nov. 9. At. the Police Court yesterday Wilham Joseph Hill, aged 33, who admitted failing tc maintain his wife, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. The police stated that accused left his wife and thre3 rhil,Wellington in September, 1922, with only £lO. Accused Intimated that he was willing to abide by an order for 30s a week, and the magistrate made an order .commencing from the expiry of his sentence.
