FIGHT WITH REVOLVERS

LONDON, Nov. 8. That there has been f trouble in Spain appears from telegrams from Perignan, 'announcing the arrest of twenty Spaniards, who confessed that they were engaged in a plot against the Directory. A telegram from Barcelona, describes the police pursuit of the suspects and tells of a prolonged fight with revolvers on a boulevard at San Antonio, resulting in the death of one .policeman and the wounding of another, •also the arrest of seven suspects, all of whom carried bombs and revolvers. The Spanish Embassy in London states that an armed band of thirty entered the pro\*ince of Navarra from France, and were forced to re-cross the frontier, leaving one dead, one wounded' and five prisoners. .An attempt to seize the barracks at Barceona was also defeated and the assailants Avere arrested.
Great excitement continues in consequence of reports that efforts will he made to smuggle arms at many points along the frontier. Numerous arrests were made at various posts. A . Madrid communique details a collision between the police and the invaders at Pamplona, near the French frontier, in which two police and five invaders Avere killed. Twenty-seven of the latter were arrested. The communique states that the affair wias apparently part of a revolutionary movement initiated by anarchists across the French frontier in conjunction with Spanish syndicalists and extremists.
Paris newspapers report the recent activity of Spaniards between Paris and the French frontier. • Several parties left in motor-cars for the frontier, which they crossed on foot.
