FLYING IN LONDON
SOVIET RECEPTION
REVOLUTION ANNIVERSARY. BY CABLE -PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received Nov. 10, 11.30 a.m. LONDON, Nov. 9. The Red Flag flew over Chesham House when Rakowsky held a reception in celebration of the seventh, anniversary of the Russian revolution. He and his wife received the guests at the head of the staircase, where photograhps of Lenin swathed in reel diapery was displayed. The Red Flag and photographs were also in most of the apartments. The invitations were issued by_the Diplomatic Corps. The British Foreign Office wag represented. Others, including Wells, Bernard Shaw, Lansbury, Oswald, Mosley, Sidney Webb, ivere present, but the bulk of the guests were, members oi the staffs of Soviet organisations in London. They attended in ordinary workaday clothes. Correspondents describe the gathering as one of the most remarkable of its kind yet seen in London. Chesham House was formerly the Russian Imperial Embassy, and was recently handed over to the Soviet—Aus.-N.Z‘ Cable Assn - .
