As indicated yesterday, Britain is well to the fore in the development of aerial machines. To-day we have received further infortion of the giant airships which are to be placed in service shortly. The passenger carrier will be a palatial airship, luxuriously appointed, and an expert states that the public will be amazed at the . developments in the near future. . BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. (Received Nov. 8, 9 .10 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 7. Two airships of the type cabled yesterday are under construction. One of them, which is being built at the Royal Air Works, is destined for naval and military purposes. It is understood that the other, which Vickers are building, will be a pioneer air liner, almost of the length of the Aquitania. An air expert expressed the opinion that the public will be amazed at the development in the near future. The new airship will accommodate 120 passengers, and will have luxurious state rooms. It is expected to reach Bombay from London in.five days and Australia in eight days. The fuel will be heavy oil, instead of petrol, which will mean economy and safety from fire.
