J ÜBI LEE CELEBR ALIGNS The congregation of St. John’s Presbyterian Church will begin the jubilee celebrations this evening, amt will continue them until November 10. in connection with the jubilee a souvenu booklet has been issued, giving a liriei history of the church and an account of its organisations and its jubilee. The story tells of the progress of the church, and contains a number of reproductions of photographs which will prove of special interest, especially to Lhe older residents of the town and district, recalling the names of many who laboured faithfully in the early days. Among the photograph blocks is one ol the Waihi Redoubt, while another shows the site of the old Maori pa at Turuturu-Mokai. Other views arc the Blockhouse, High Street, in 1873, Mr. Davidson’s stone in 1878, and the lirsi Presbyterian Church (1877).
