VARIOUS MATTERS. ' (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, Nov. 6. The House met at 11.30 a:m Replying to Air. Potter, the Minister of Defence said the Government was still considering the question of subsidising an aeroplane flight from Australia to New Zealand. In replv to Mi*. Holland, Mr. Massoy said he would consider the question of calling Parliament together next year early enough to enable it to rise about the end of September, so as to give members representing large country districts time to iget round their electorates. Replying to Mr. Wilfbrd. Mr. Massey said he was not prepared to anil 011110 ® the names of the Gaming Bill Committee. The committee would pot be a large one. but would only coinprise about half-a-dozen suitable men. At this stage Mr. Hockley, chairman of the Licensing Committee, moved that the report of the committee be printed. He strongly objected to the evidence being printed, on the ground of expense. Mr Isitt said that as the report was that of a, majority of the committee it would be unfair to send it out without anything to show what the minority thought. As there were indications of an acrimonious debate arising, the Premier counselled the dropping of the whole proposal, Hon C. J. Parr moved that the debate be adjourned. This was challenged bv Mr McCombs but on a. division the adjournment was carried by 38 to 14. Mr. Massey then moved the second reading of the Appropriation DAI, the last measure to he considered this session.
