LICENSING BILL.
I NOT YET PRINTED. PREMIER’S PROMISE. By Telegraph.—Special to Star.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 6. , The Premier was asked by Mr. Wright to-day if the Licensing Bill would lie circulated during the recess. He replied that, so far, it had not been printed. Mr. Fraser: Not drafted. Mr. Langstone: And never wiil be. Mr. Massey: Yes, it will. He added that the law-drafting officers were overworked. The mixing up of licensing with the general election did not appeal to him, as they could not move in one without affecting the other. He did not wish to stir uj? possible differences at an election twelve months in advance, because, judging by present appearances, they were not likely to have an election until a year hence. The Licensing Bill had not yet been considered by Cabinet. When this was done he would consider whether it should lie circit lated. Mr. Isitt suggested that some of the evidence should lie printed The Premier agreed to. have the report and evidence printed.
