ENTERTAINMENTS
OPERA HOUSE, TO-NIGHT. RINGLND’S VAUDEVILLE. The programme of Ringland’s celebrated vaudeville in the Opera House mst night delighted the audience which greeted it. All the acts were according to their hilling, and the audience were by no means slow in showing their appreciation of the uniformly excellent entertainment. The programme was opened by Herbert Williams with a senes of magical feats, which mystified and amused the audience for twenty minutes. The Donnizetti troupe of juvenile acrobats and tumblers gave a particularly brilliant performance. The balancing work of the young lady member of the troupe was especially-clever, and the tumbling of the two boys had an added touch of comedy. In Chas Valentine the company possesses one of the finest ventriloquists heard in Hawera. Lyndo and Lyndo, “the Musical Cap and the Maid,” delighted their hearers with an act that was harmonious, novel and humorous, many and varied instruments being called into action in the course of a sparkling turn. The second half of the programme, was opened by two excruciatingly fnnriv clowns, Mark and Anthony, who kept the audience ippling with laughter in an amusing interlude entitled “The Biter Bit.” The Juggling Waldens presented a truly amazing juggling turn interspersed with some dangerous and difficult can-non-ball juggling. .Their act is one of the cleverest cf its kind ever seen locally. Herbert Williams entirely lived up to his reputation as a raconteur and character sketch artist. Captain Cuttle presented tlie only troupe of performing cattle dogs appearing on the stage in Australasia, and this turn proved a particularly popular one. The show should draw a packed house tonight. Patrons are advised to book their seats. THE GRAND, TO-NIGHT. “THE LONE CHANCE.” The management this evening will submit a capital mid-week programme featuring that popular actor, John Gilbert, in “The Lone Chance.” This picture is full of thrills from start to finish, and gives Gilbert all the scope he requires to show his versatility. A thrilling motor chase and high dive are two sensations which will make the onlookers hang to their seats. Supporting the big feature is Reginald Denny in “The Leather Pushers,”,an Imperial oomedv “He’s My Pal,” and the latest Fox News.
