Demand tor New Zealand lamb continues; market very firm. Mutton; New Zeaa*nd prime crossbred mutton, Canterbury ueayy and light not quoted; North Island heavy H-d, light 8-id. Moderate demand tor New Zealand mutton; marKet farm. Beef: N.Z. prime ox beef hinds sd. fores 4d. Demand for New Zealand beef .runs principally on foiequarteis; market firmer. Australian, -rozen meat: Good average quality crossbred lambs, Australian heavy not ■ iuoted light ll£d. Good demand for Australian lamb. Australian mutton not quoted.” DAIRY PRODUCE. SHEEPSKIN, HIDE AND TALLOW MARKET. Messrs Dalgety and Co. report: At our fortnightly sale of sheepskins, hides and tallow, held on Friday afternoon. we offered a medium catalogue of all classes to a fair attendance of buyers. \Ve also offered bag wool, and prices bid were very satisfactory. Sheepskins: Very, strong competition prevailed for all grades, prices being firm at late rates. Our catalogue comprised some good Darcels, and were keenly competed for. Salties were slightly easier on late rates, with the exception of pelts, which showed an advance of 3d to 6d per skin. Hides: Fair competition. Prices for heavy and light ox were down id to id per lb. Cow were very firm, lights showing an advance of id per lb on previous rates recorded. Kip and yearling again sold well at about late rates, while calf improved slightly, especially weights over 61h. For a nice line of calf averaging we secured lod, and for a parcel averaging 6lb the same price. Tallow sold well up to late rates, good lots showing a slight increase. The following is the range of nriees: Sheepskins: Halfhred 17d to 222 d, fine crossbred 18d to 20>d. medium to ooavse crossbred 162 d to 19jd, short to half wool U-Jd to 20d, lambs 15*d to 2<Hd, dead and damaged 'crossbred 14:?d to 174 d. inferior and badly dam-
