Field-Marshal Lord Plumer, accompanied by the military attaches of France and Belgium, laid a great wreath of lilies and cornflowers, which was handed to him on behalf of the Ypres League by Mrs Thwaites, widow of an Australian officer, and Sergeant Brooks, a. Victorian Cross winner.
