BEAM WIRELESS.

QUESTION OF ROUTE. \ : v - ■ ■ MELBOURNE, Oct. 7. Although nothing has been decided according to some authorities an Australian beam wireless station is to be constructed, perhaps in Sydney, where Amalgamated - Wireless, Ltd., has workshops. The location will depend ■to some degree upon the choice of direction for. the despatch of the beam waves between Australia and Great whether via the Atlantic aind Pacific, or via Europe. Africa, and the Indian Ocean. i It is said that the waves will have a spread of 6500 miles in Australia when transmitted from Great Britain. The choice of direction will be dependent to some extent upon the technical consideration of darkness, which is favourable for beam transmission.
