Fines were imposed on six youths living in the Normanby district, -who we v e changed at the Hawera Magistrate’s Cdurt to-day/with failing to register under the Defence Act. - Sergt.-Major Mahoney stated that in each case all that was required of defendants was that they .should register. The boys lived in the non-effective area, and on that account they would not have to drill. A fine of 10s and 7s court costs was imposed in each case, the defendants' names being:' George Nelson Hall. William Garmonsway, Leslie Roy Crann. Archie Herbert Telfer, Phillm Albe r t Tippett and George Edward Harding.
