The iutev-State Labour Conference unanimously decided in favour cf the Commonwealth constitution being altered to provide that no Australian can be conscripted for military service overseas. Mr Ei. G. Theodore (Premier of Queensland! previously moved that Australia is not to be committed to military action in any circumstances by any authority whatsoever without the expressed approval of Parliament and except in cases of emergency and where time permits of a referendum of, the peonle. The voting being even, Mr Theodore’s motion, in accordance with standing orders, was declared lost.
