KILLED BY PROMOTION.

SCOTLAND YARD MAN’S DEA^L In a locked room of his house in Kelmore Grove, Peckham Rye, PoliceSergeant Rupert Dixon, aged 34, attached to Scotland Yard, was found dead, a wound on his throat and gastaps turned on. His widow, at the inquest, said Dixon had been over-anxious regarding a promotion he had lately received, and he suffered from insomnia. An inspector of Scotland Yard stated that Dixon was most conscientious, and he had no fault to find with him. He appeared to he highly strung and nervous, but he had nothing to worry about. A verdict of suicide while of unsound mind was recorded.
