This is due to the desire of merchants to realise on anything they are holding before the new season’s crop comers to hand. The Bank of New Zealand, produce department, has received the following advice from its London office under date October 22: Tallow—there is a very good market. Current quotations: Good mutton 51s to 51s 6d per cwt, good beef 50s 6d to 51s. good miked 50s to 50s 6d, gut 41s 6d to 475. Dalgety and Company. Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house under date of the 22nd instant: TallowOne thousand and twenty casks of tallow offered; 920 casks sold. Since our last report prices are 6d to Is per cwt higher. FROZEN MEAT QUOTATIONS. M. A. Eliott, Ltd., have' received advice from Messrs Gilbert Anderson and Co., Ltd., London, of the following Smithfiekl prices for the past week ending October* 24, 1924.
