STEAMER’S NARROW ESCAPE. HUGE WATERSPOUTS. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. DANNEVIRKE, Oct. 25. Mysterious marine disturbances were observed at Herbertville on Friday occurring about four miles off shore in the path of coastal sea traffic. Shortly before eight, o.’clock a huge volume of water shot into the air about 200 feet. Another is reported to have occurred a> few minutes later, while a third, but less spectacular, took place shortly after 9 o’clock, the sea being subsequently liseoloured over a considerable area, showing that the ocean bed had been disturbed.
