A BIG SALE OE LAND. t (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. HASTINGS, Oct. 24. Over 5000 acres of the Clifton Estate, near Cape Kidnappers, has been sold to Colonel Neilson, of England, who is taking up his residence on the property. Mr Charles Gordon retains 2000 acres and the home, where he will continue to live. FATAL FALL FROM HORSE. ASHBURTON, Oct. 24. Charles Dawson, aged 58, a wellknown farmer at Waterton, died in hospital this morning from a fractured skull, sustained through being thrown from a horse on Wednesday night. Deceased was dragged some distance, and was found staggering towards his home leading his horse.
