MECCA PILGRIMS.
WAHABIS WANT PEACE. BY CABLE—PEESS ASSOCIATION—COPYEIGHT. Received Oct. 24, 1.15 p.m. JERUSALEM, Oet. 23 Ibnsaud, the Sultan of Nejd, has telegraphed to the Moslem Supreme Council, 'who- offered to mediate between Ibnsaud .and Hedjaz, saying he was. grieved that the olter of mediation had arrived too late, and declaring that during the last seven years, Ibnsaud has done his utmost to conciliate Hussein and attain peace and concord, but vainly. Hussein's attitude became haughtier and more obstinate. His proclamation proved he was aiming at the disruption of Ibnsaud’s ‘territory. Hussein, who during the . past six yeans prevented the Wahabis from pilgrimaging to- Mecca and Ibnsaud, was unable to maintain the security of Mecca and Medina and guarantee the safety of Moslem pilgrims; The Wahabis’ whole purpose was to tranquillise the situation of Hedjaz and insure the future of their country.. They desired the administration of Hedjaz, which would guarantee the rights of all Moslems to provide comfort for pilgrims and remove all injustices and grievances.
