EARLIER REPORTS. (by TELEGRAPH —PREBS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, Oct. 24. In consequence of the delay in the transmission of the All Blacks’ football reports, strong representations were made at the instance of the. Press Association to the Pacific cable authorities, which at first met with no response on the ground that traffic was congested and football could not be given preference over commercial work. Mr Markman, secretary to the G.P.0., who is at present in London, was then cabled to by the department, and he interviewed the Pacific Board, at first with no better results. He has now sent word that upon further representations he has obtained in the face of strong opposition a promise that midweek messages shall receive preference.
