AUSTRALIAN SELECTORS. DIFFICULTY IN PICKING TEST TEAM. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received Oct. 22, 11.5 a.m. SYDNEY, Oct. 22. The selectors of the Australian team to meet England in the first test are having difficult time. Probably never before in the history of the game have so many players been eligible for selection, players who. would not weaken the side if included. It is a question of who will be dropped, not who will be picked. There is a plethora of batsmen, but no bowlers. Australia is well served in the matter of wicketkeepers, and has wonderful Fieldsmen. Collins and Bardsley are the finest opening pair of batsmen Australia possesses. On tlieir present form, Taylor and Kippax appear to be certainties, and Kellewav and Gregory will also be among the first chosen. As only 11 can "be picked from the great array, it is certain that some States are going to feel slighted.
