ANGLICAN CHURCH.

DIVIDING AUCKLAND DIOCESE. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, Oct. 21. The Diocesan Synod carried a motion stressing the urgent need for the sub-division of the diocese and the creation of a separate diocese to include Waikato and Taranaki, with headquarters at Hamilton. Commissions were appointed to suggest boundaries and consider financial provisions.

The motion was the result of a conference of laity, which decided that the suggested appointment of an assistant bishop would not be a satisfactory solution of the difficulties experienced by the bishop owing to the great size of the present Auckland diocese. The matter is to be brought up at general synod.
