HERRIOT’S CLAIM.
SOCIALIST CONGRESS. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT. Received Oct. 20, 2.55 n.m. PARIS, Oct. 19. In a speech at the Radical Socialist Party Congress at Boulogne M. Herriot claimed, as a result of the Government’s endeavours to end the isolation of France, that her position was now unassailable. He could discern no hostile prejudice against France among the-nations assembled at Geneva, and the relations with Germany and himself were easier, as the first stage of the Franco-German economic negotiations showed.—Aus.-N.Z.
