A MYSTERY.
BENZINE - EXPLODES. HOUSE DESTROYED. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. NAPIER, Oct. 19. Whilst the _ tank of a motor car was being filled in a shed at the rear of a residence in Napier South on Saturday evening, the motor , spirit exploded and a conflagration was soon under way. A strong blaze rapidly fanned the flames, which soon spread to a house, which was burning furiously when the brigade arrived. The adjoining house had actually caught alight also, but the brigade was able to prevent much damage in that case. The first house and contents, owned and occupied by Archibald Irvine, were practically completely destroyed. The insurance is not ascertainable.
