WORK IN THE HOUSE.

END OF THE SESSION. (By Telegraph—Soecial to Star.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 20. The principal business in Parliament during the week will be the presentation of the Public Works Statement. The Meat Control Bill remains for the third reading, when a further lively discussion is anticipated. The Government is expected to make an effort to pass, the Legislature Amendment Bill, but if there is a long delay it would not be permitted to interfere with the general desire of members to end the session if not this month, then the first week in November.
