It is' proposed to increase the general income tax exception to £2OO, and to allow married taxpayers £IOO exemption for a wife and £SO for each child. The cost of these -concessions, it is estimated, will be £95,000, and 60,000 persons will cease to be taxpayers. The loss is to be met by an increase in the rate of tax for individuals, and by raising the company tax Is to Is 3d in the £.
