PARKING WITHOUT LIGHTS.

SPECIAL STANDS SUGGESTED. POLICE AND JUSTICES IN FAVOUR A suggestion that special well-lighted parking places should be provided in different parts of the borough for the parking at night of unlighted cars was favourably received at the 1 Hawera Magistrate’s Court yesterday during the hearing of a case against a local resident who was charged with leaving his car at night without a light. Sergeant Henry said that at the present time motorists could leave their cars without lights at the parking nlaces in Riddiford and Napier Streets, but he thought it would be a good idea if other parking places as well were nominated at places where there was sufficient light. Mr. E. Dixon, J.P., who was on the bench, said it seemed absurd that at the present time cars could not be left 'standing under a strong light if they did not have their lights burning. He thought it would be a good thurg rUr. to.'-'fi.l authorities could be approached with a view to their nominating special well-lighted parking places. ..-ould accommodate, say, from 12 to 20 cars. Vr. V. O’Don. who intimated that, he was a member of the committee of the South Taranaki Automobile Association. said he would bring the matter before that bo'dy.
