VALUABLE TROTTING STALLION DESTROYED. . (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. ASHBURTON, Oct. 16. Fire destroyed the stables of the Methven Hotel last- night. The trotting stallion Oinako, valued at £SOO--owned by Air. John McDonnell, Ashburton, was destroyed, the crowd being unable to rescue him. The hotel narrowly escaped destruction. The stables were insured.
