STRATFORD DEMONSTRATION FARM.

ORDINARY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the executive was held on 'Wednesday, October 8, there being present: Messrs J. B. Richards, K. Tarrant, P. Morresey, W.- H. Were, and E. Hartwig (farm manager). Mr. Richards was appointed chairman for the meeting. Apolo r gies were received from Messrs J. W. Deem, E. Marfell, and M; T. Phillips. In connection with the annual- subsidy and grant for seeds and manures, correspondence Avith the Department of Agriculture was read and received. It Avas resolved that the matter be brought up for further consideration at the November meeting. Mr. Tarrant reported that silver pine posts Ayere delivered at ,the farm on October 3. ' Mr. Morresey reported that matters appertaining to stock were quite satisfactory. The manager reported as folloAvs: Forty-nine cows are being milked. The quantity of milk for the month was 38,7451 b; test for the first period 4.3, and for the second and third periods 4.0. Carrots Avere finished on September 23. Mangolds Avill last about another week. We have turned the cows on, .so as to clean the paddock up ready for ploughing. The swede ground has been ploughed, rolled, and harrowed, and is now ready for drilling. Field eleven has been stumped and pretty well cleaned up, and is uoav Avell on the Avay to being ploughed. Two choppers Avere sold to the IngleAVood Bacon Company.
