FIGURES FOR SIX MONTHS. REVENUE SHOWS INCREASE OF £434,688. EXPENDITURE HIGHER. For the first half of the current financial year, the Consolidated Revenue increased by £434,688, and the expenditure by £565,049. Preliminary returns of the finances for the six months ended September 30 show that the revenue for the period was _ £10,931,265, compared with £lO,496,577 for the corresponding six months of the financial year 1923-24. The expenditure for the six months totalled £12,547,337, compared with £11,982,288 for April to September, 1923. REVENUE. The revenue, shows a net increase of £434,688. The principal increases are: £ Customs 230,000 Railways 166,000 Postal v... 75,000 The revenue for the September quarter under the .chief headings, compared with that of the June quarter, is as follows: —- June.
