ZR3 arrived at Lakeliurst from Friedriel i a fen in 81 hours 25 minutes. She actually' landed at 9.55 o’clock.— Reuter. NORMAN ANGER’S IDEAS. BERLIN TO NEW YORK. WASHINGTON, Oct. 14. A message from Chatham, Massachusetts, states that at 11 o’clock eastern standard time the dirigible ZR3 gave her position as 42/30 north latitude and 47/20 west longitude, and her speed at seventy-five miles an hour. She w r as approximately 1300 miles from her destination. LONDON, Oct. 14. A report from the Azores states that the German Zeppelin for the United States passed this afternoon all well. In length. 650 ft (126 ft more than the length of' R.M.S. Niagara), inflated with non-inflammable helium gas, and equipped w-ith every modern convenience and luxury, including running hot and cold w-ater, ZR3 represents the greatest achievement in airship construction to date. She has been built at Friedrichshafen for the American Government, and is to be delivered by Germany on account of reparation payments. The Americans' are so impressed w-ith the possibilities of ZR3 and her predecessor, ZRI, that orders have been placed in Germany for the construction of similar ships, w-ith which it is hoped to inaugurate a New- YorkLondon service; the trip will take 35 days each way.
