Mrs Wall enjoyed her usual good health until a week ago, when she became unexpectedly ill, and was later removed to a private hospital, where her untimely death. occurred on Sunday morning. Mr John Henry Oscar Colbv, whose death occurred at Onehunga last week, was 62 years of age, and had been in retirement, from active life for 20 years. Born in Malton, Yorkshire, England, he was the ; second son of Colonel Colby, M.D., and arrived in New Zealand about 36 years ago. He acquired land in the Manawatu district and was engaged in farming until failing health compelled his retirement. He took a keen interest in politics both' in the Dominion and abroad, though his indifferent health did not permit his taking any active part. He was, like hi& father, a staunch Conservative. Mr Colby is survived by Airs Colby, his son, Air W. Colby, and daughter, Miss El Colby, of the New Plymouth hospital nursing staff.
