Messrs Dalgety and Co v Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house, under date of the 9th instant: — “Butter.—Market very cmiet. We quote New Zealand salted, 220 s (222); New Zealand exceptional, brands, 224 s (2245); Danish 230 s (2405); Australian finest salted, 208 s (2I0s). “Cheese.—There is a fair inquiry. New Zealand white 95s (965); coloured 94s (955); Canadian C.I.F. 94s (955).” (Last week’s quotations given in parentheses) . The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. have received the following cablegram from their. London house under date 10th inst.: — N. Frozen Meat- —Lamb and wether, prices unchanged; ewe, £d per lb higher; market steady. Last quotation, 31/10/24, lamb, 12R1 per lb average; last quotation, 19/9/24, wether and maiden ewe, light ,8-kl per lb, heavy 73d per lb; ewe, light 64d per lb, heavy s|d per lb. Messrs A. H. Turnbull and Co. have received a cable from Messrs W. Weddel and Co., Ltd., dated London, 10th inst., as follows:—Butter—Danish, 235 s to 241 s (last week 2405); N.Z., unsalted 2345, salted 220 s to 222 s (220 s to 2245); market steady. Cheese—White, 94s to 96s (95s to 965); coloured, 93s to 95s (94s to 965). Market slew. FARMERS’ CO-OP. ORGANISATION SOCIETY’S REPORT. At Auroa, on Friday, the 10th inst., we report a good yarding and a good demand for dairy heifers. Bulls sold very well, as also did good quality yearling heifers. We quote : Two-year grade bulls £6 10s to £l3, yeaxding pedigree bulls (rather low in condition) 6gns to llgns, good forward and fresh conditioned young cows and heifers £4 10s to £5, good paddock cows £3 10s to £4 ss, boners and works cows at late rates, good quality yearling heifers £5 4s, others £3 15s to £3 17s, smaller and low conditioned £1 15s to £3, dairy heifers (best quality) up to £l6, good £8 10s to £9 15s, more backward £6 to £B. At Hawera, on Saturday, the tilth inst., we conducted our supplementary horse fair ,and report a good sale for the class of horse offei’ed, which could not nearly approach the standard of horses offered at our spring fair on August 15 and 16. We quote: Unbroken heavy colt £l9, unbroken half-draught filly £lB, heavy broken horses £34 to £3B 10s, half-draughts and milk carters £2O to £32, hacks and harness horses (best) £l2 to £lB others £7 10s to £lO 10s. At Kakaramea on Monday, the 13th inst., we conducted our usual fortnightly sale, and also our annual bul'l fair. Very few bulls came forward and the small entry met with a ready sale. We quote six-year pedigree bulls 13£ to 14gns, 3-year grade bulls lOgns, 2-year grade hulls 64 to lOgns, weaner_ pigs 21s 6d, 3-year P.A. steers £5. forward cows to £4 15s, young fresh conditioned paddock cows £3 4s, works and boner cows.at late rates, yearling Jersey cross heifers £2 (o £2 3s 6d, dairy heifers, best to £lO, others £7 10s to £9, more backward £4 5s to £6 10s. LOAN COMPANY’S REPORT. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. (Hawera branch), report, as follows: At Eltham 011 the Bth inst. we. had a fair yarding. There, was a good attendance in spite of the boisterous weather. A very satisfactory sale resulted'at the following prices: Fat and forward cows, £4 12s 6d to £6; stores and boners, 15s to £2 7s 6d; medium springing heifers, £5 to £7; cows, £3 15s to £l2 10s; fat ewes, 355. At Hawera, on the 9th inst., we conducted our usual fortnightly sale and bull fair. We again offered a good yarding to a big attendance of buyers. Competition was keen in the store pens, but bidding was inclined to drag in the dairy section. However, we disposed of the whole yarding, and a satisfactory sale resulted. We quote: Pedigree 3-year Jersey bulls to 19 guineas, yearlings and 2-year-old grade Jersey bulls, 84 guineas to 10 guineas; fat cows, £5 to £6 11s; forward cows, £3 0s to £4; others, 22/6 to £2 17s 6d; medium Jersey and Jersey cross yearling heifers, £1 10s to £2 16s; good springing heifers, £9 10s to. £l3 10s; medium quality 41s; stores, 22s 6d to 265; shorn fat wethers, 33s 6d; fat shorn ewes passed ditto, £6 to £8 15s; backward and

calved heifers, £3 10s to £8 10s: good cows, £S to £ls 10s; old and inferior sorts, £3 to £6; light porkers, 38s to in at 27s 6d. LONDON TALLOW SALES. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their' London house, under date of the Btli inst.: 820 casks of tallow offered, and practically all sold; good demand, especially for edible. Since our last report prices are 1/- per ewt. higher on the average. We quote: Prime quality beef, 49/6; prime quality mutton, 49/3; mixed, good colour, 48/-; inferior, 44/3.
