MOSUL DISPUTE. ' BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT CONSTANTINOPLE, Oct. 10. The Turkish Government has replied to the British Notes regarding in-; cursions into the Mosul vilayet. It denies the incursions and declares that it is not concentrating troops. The Turkish Government undertakes not to pass the line Djesse-Binchehad-Aehou-lamerik, which line, however, .marks practically the extreme point of the Turkish incursions. GERMAN LOAN. PARIS, Oct. 12. The German loan lias been apportioned as follows; Britain £12,000,000; Prance, Holland and Switzerland £3,000,000 each; Belgium, Sweden and Italy £1,500,000 each; Germany £1,000,000; United States 100,000,000 dollars. FRANCO-GERMAN TREATY. PARIS, Oct. 12. Negotiations for the Franco-German commercial treaty are at present ended, but will be resumed on November 5 after the German delegates have conferred with their Government. Although France declined to give Germany the “most favoured nation” treatment the, course of negotiations so far is described as satisfactory. TO BLOW UP A TRAIN. PEKING, Oct. 12. An attempt to blow up a train on which Wu Pei Fa was going to the front failed. Two galvanised tins, said to contain high explosives, were placed on the line, but were found by two Russian railway workers. ZAGHLUL’S BOAST. PARIS, Oct, 13. Zaghlul told the Matin that he was determined to force the British evacuation of Elgy.pt, employing diplomatic methods, at least temporarily. BREAD INCREASED IN PRICE. SYDNEY, Oct. 13. The price of the two pound loaf has been raised a farthing to SJ-d, from October 20. ANOTHER FASCIST CRIME. ROME, Oct, 13. Lertua, a disabled ex-soldier, 28 years of age, who recently left the Fascist Party, was murdered at the village of Roncaglia, where he attended a dance. He stayed overnight, sharing a lied with a peasant, and during the night a gang of men, all muffled up and wearing goggles, entered the bedroom, gagged the peasant, and beat Lertua to death with cudgels. FOR. EDUCATION. SYDNEY, Oct. 13. Mr. Bruntnell, Minister of Education, stated that during the past two years the Government had spent a million sterling in erecting new schools and giving better accommodation for school children. This year a further half million would he spent on new schools, and an additional £45,000 would be spent in the erection of school homes for the treatment of mentally deficient children. SHIPPING.
