OPERA HOUSE—TO-NIGHT. “SCARS OF JEALOUSY.” “Scars of Jealousy,” Thomas H,• Ince’s big spectacle drama, is the romantic love story of the redemption of the dissolute scion of a wealthy Southern family, who finds himself after lie has been beaten into a semblance of manhood by a fierce-tribe of mooiisliining “Cajan” mountaineers. A roaring forest, fire, crashing tree trunks, a skyred with flames, miles of blazing pines, bloodhounds-pursuing an exhausted girl as she tremblingly throws herself into a marsh entirely surrounded by a flaming forest—these are but a few of the thrills iii Thomas H. luce’s “Scars of Jealousy-.” “The Amazing Miranos,” the. world-famous aerial artists, hiake their final appearance at the Opera House this evening. NELLIE BRAMLEY “PEG 0’ MY HEART.” HER. GREATEST SUCCESS. All who have seen this fascinating young actress and Rer clever companyagree that her star appearance, and that which has won unqualified praise and credit, is her deelineation of character in the story of the little Irish girl, “Peg.” “Peg o’ My Heart” is one of those comedies that live for ever and will go on making friends to the end of the chapter. The Nellie Bramley Company- will make their appearance in the comedy on Wednesday. October 15, when it is anticipated a packed audience will witness the production. “Undoubtedly,” says an Auckland reviewer, “Miss Bramley surprised many of her audience by the merit of her performance, and her interpretation of the whimsical Irish girl who so quickly prlioed the foibley of her impecunious guardians. Spontaneously the audience, applauded her passionate devotion to her father ; her unsportsmanlike championing of the cause of her pet, Michael, when the latter was fighting her cousin’s Pom., and with eqiigl warmth did they support the recalcitrant and defiant Peg when she rebelled against the too rigid propriety of that English home. It was a. lovable ‘little diviP that prompted Peg all through. Miss Bramley’s performance of Peg was a veritable triumph.” The remaining essential characters will be enacted by Mr. Hewlett as Jerry, Miss Sylvia McNair as Mrs. Chichester, Miss Ethel Bashford as Ethel Chichester, Mr. John Galway as Alaric, and Mr. Guy Hastings as Chris. Brent. The box plan is at Mr,s. Cook’s store at the Opera House. Seats should be reserved at once.
